boom! goes london

a day after london was celebrating it's appointment to host the 2012 olympic games, a few bombs go off on the underground and one on a bus. people were killed. yes, it was a tragedy. it came as a surprise to me when i heard the news, but i cannot say that i was shocked. however, i was hugely irritated by the news reporting on the event- what complete shit it was.
the whole news coverage of the "terrorist attack" in london was so over dramatic and way over done. the whole thing was grossly and inappropriately portrayed as an unjustified and horrific sort of event. "how could they do this to us?" i heard several people asking the television camera. well let me explain: your country is dropping bombs on people all around the world and has been doing so for the past 400 years. they may not have been falling from planes, but certainly blowing people up. so is it really any wonder why someone has retaliated and blown up a few people in england? i am not in any way promoting violence. i am just pointing out that it is ridiculous to be walking around this world in total ignorance of what is really going on. all parties involved in blowing people up believe in the philosophy of an eye for an eye. so there you have it. you blow someone up, they blow someone up. the whole thing has become this insane paradox.
i am sorry to hear that people were killed. but i was even more outraged at all the bullshit oversensitivity the media has put on it. allow me to give the following example: for three days the only news coverage was about this bombing in london. there were 40 people got killed! no wait, make that 52 people killed. no wait, make that 56 people killed and 17 still unaccounted for. oh the misery. and on a side note another suicide bombing took place outside a police recruitment center in baghdad, 35 people were killed. this was the fourth consecutive day of such attacks, now on to sports where the canadian national curling team has won another world championship... blah blah blah.
if there is so much outrage over a few miserable poms being blown to bits in the london tube, where is all the media coverage of citizen outrage when 13 iraqis are killed by a misguided american "smart bomb?"
am i the only person seeing through this media hype? i wonder, because i see so many people around me overly worked up by the sensationalism in the news. come on world. wake the fuck up.
