it couldn't have happened to a nicer person (not)

there is a new word in the australian language- the "brogden." it applies to the (until yesterday) leader of the opposition of the state government for new south wales, john brogden. basically, this wanker who for all intents and purposes if he would have kept his mouth shut and his hands to himself, would have one day become the premier for the whole state. instead he went and royally fucked it all up.
what did he do? well first brogden started drinking. then brogden continued to drink, until he was extremely drunk. when brogden found himself being interviewed, he then started to grope two of the female reporters. but that was not enough. brogden went on to make comments about the former premier and his wife being a "mail order bride..." once more endearing himself to the community. proving once again that the liberal party members of this nation are completely arrogant assholes! also proving that the only time they are actually in touch with the citizens of the country is when they have one hand shoved up your ass.
needless to say, john brogden was forced to finally hang his head in shame and retire. so what does it mean to pull a "brogden?" basically, it means to get yourself so completely drunk and carry on like such an asshole (outside of the office)that the end result is to be fired from work.

there can be only one

religion vs. science. it is the great debate of our grandparents age. but for the rest of us living in modern times, a.k.a.- reality, the debate is well and truly over. science wins. evolution wins. religion and all the make believe hocus-pocus mumbo-jumbo, well, it loses. it is all nice to believe in a happy wonderland afterlife with 26 virgins waiting at the doorstep to fulfill your every pleasure. but let's face it. the whole idea is more flawed than any "scientific theory," could ever be.
so in america, where the debate is once again revisited and opened up by (a bunch of sorry, pathetic, and sore losers) bible bashing religious nutters, people with intelligence must once again, take a deep breath, sigh, and roll their eyes all in a way to not upset the christian. the debate is over, dude. science wins.
however, if you want to teach religion in schools, go ahead. teach it. but which version are you going to teach? i recall my high school biology teacher stating- "i only teach evolution because there is only one interpratation of evolution. if i were to teach creationism, which one of the over 30 theories am i to teach?" in the end there truly is no more debate.
however, when we allow idiots to rule the planet, these things tend to happen, leading us once more to the ongoing rage and war in the middle east. religious nutters shooting each other because they think they are all more right, and more holy than their next door neighbor.

the woody

just heard yesterday that george bush was ass licking john howard in a quick role swap. george jr. awarded john howard with the "honorable" woodrow wilson award. how fitting! the whole thing is a major kiss ass exercise as already mentioned.
what makes it even more ironic, is the fact that both john howard and woodrow wilson had/have extemely racist policies geared toward the black skinned peoples living in their countries, respectively. woodrow wilson was a major bigot. however, he made it no secret that he didn't like blacks and his polical agenda was definitely slanted against blacks in america in the early 20th century. john howard on the other hand is in denile of his blatant racism. although his policies are anti-aboriginal, he claims "he is not racist." not to mention all the ugly bills passed in favor of locking up refugees in prison camps etc. once again reaffirming his greatness as a national leader.

i choose peace and love

i am not in anyway suggesting that anyone can ignore the past. because it is an important make-up of who we are etc. we can embrace the past, right or wrong, and learn from it. we as human beings have the choice whether we want that to have a positive outcome or negative. regardless, we learn from our past actions. humanity, has created the most horrendous of actions in its' past. on the other hand, humans have also created the most wonderful and beautiful moments of harmony and life. so where do we stand? it is up to us to make that difference every single day, and to be able to teach tolerance and acceptance even in the face of overwhelming adversity.
i for one, am always reminded of the one man standing before an advancing army of tanks in tienanmen square in china, 1986. if one person could do that, imagine what one million could do, or a billion.

the idiocy of religious ideology

how stupid are some people? i mean it. there are some real fucking morons in this world and they are living right next door to you. it doesn't matter where in the world you live, because i can 99.9% guarantee that some religiously blinded fool lives in your neighborhood.
are we to seriously believe the rhetoric that is put forth by the religious leaders of the world? will all their prophecies of hell fire and brimstone, impending doom, and "the end of the world," really come true? is there truly a heavenly paradise? the short and long answer to these questions is- no.
yet, why are we led to believe that if some suicide bomber blows him/herself up killing other men, women, and children, that he/she will be sent to live in eternal paradise with 26 young nubile virgins? this shit is ridiculous! it is almost as far fetched as the one about the immaculate conception. you know the one. little virgin mary gave birth to a little baby boy and they named him jesus. yeah, right. she got knocked up, just like every other female throughout time (not limited to humans but including all mammals, birds, fish, insects, arachnids, and other living critters of the earth). who believes this shit? how silly are you people? you are so fucking blinded to your own "faith." and still they got you fighting other people who are just as blinded to their "faith."
which brings me to the latest fundamentally fucked up situation in the middle east- the gaza strip. right now jews and palestinians are fighting over a bit of dirt. this is an issue they should have solved over 2000 years ago. but once again both groups are so blinded by their "faith," they would rather kill or be killed than to simply live in peace. peace being the ultimate goal of all these crazy religions. go figure. as much as i would like to see and believe that there could be a peaceful solution, i am slowly but unwillingly coming around to the conclusion that it is almost hopeless. not to be anti-semitic here, but israel must accept much of the responsibility in the most recent escalation in violence over the past 5 years (also we can blame john howard because he is a little rat fink bitch). looking back over the past 2000 years, consider what has happened in that little stretch of land... jews take over, jews get kicked out, muslims take over, muslims get kicked out, egyptians take over, egyptians get kicked out, jews take over, jews get kicked out, muslims take over, muslims get kicked out.... and on and on it goes until today. where once again, the world finds itself in one of those transition stages where jews get kicked out and muslims take over. which brings me back to my original question. how stupid are some people?
i ask you to consider- what if atheists ruled the earth? well for one you wouldn't have to waste a weekend by sitting in church. however, there would be a lot more people sitting in the line up out in the surf.

block this.

at the moment i am confronted by a massive case of writers block. it could have something to do with the fatigue feeling i seem to be fighting over the past few days. or it could be the dull ache in my head that is located somewhere behind my right eye. but really i have nothing to say. so rather than spout prose on a subject that i have no interest in, i will just dash my fingers across the keys in a vain attempt at sparking creativity.... still no luck. maybe a few more lines then i will be done. as a writer, i am at times confronted with this situation. it is a damned feeling to be living with. you walk around for days at a stretch either uninspired, unenthused, or simply not caring enough to write about anything significant, although you care because you cannot write, when all you really want to do is write. blah blah blah.
see what i mean? this shit is totally boring. i guess i just need to be confronted with something inspirational, but for the moment nothing is. the only thing i can get excited about is the fact that big brother australia is OVER. what a fucking lame television program! it really bugs me, and i can't believe people actually watch that crap, but they do. i know i have the power to change the channel or turn it off, and i do. it is all the advertising that goes with it that i have trouble avoiding. it is everywhere, and there is no escape. i try to tune it out, but it is difficult. so through my vain attempts to avoid the big brother phenomenon, and now my voicing my complaints about it, i too am sucked into the void. is big brother watching? who the fuck cares? and if it were true, what the fuck could we do about it anyways?
sorry if this post has depressed you. i feel worse off for it. but at least i got some words down. peace out.

on multi-culturalism in australian schools

having had little contact within an educational setting (K-12) in australia, prevents me from making an in depth statement on schools specifically. however, from a societal influence upon multiculturalism in schools, i think there is a huge disparity between what is preached and what is actually practiced. i believe that australians and australian society is at a place in time where they are struggling to identify themselves. yet, on a whole the nation is having difficulties in casting off the eurocentric, english aristocratic, white dominated, mind set that it has lived under for the last 217 years since european colonialization of this continent. true, there are a greater number of multi-cultural immigrants from other non-white nations than in decades in the past. yet, rarely do i see these peoples welcomed with open arms by the dominant regime of the country. on the contrary, i see and hear a lot of people (the citizens) who are dominated by mistrust, and propogate fear. in the six years i have lived in the country, the talk has switched from an "asian invasion" to one of islamaphobia. the latter due to recent and current world events, all of which have been endorsed and encouraged by an ultra-consevative, right wing, john howard government. it is a government that preaches multiculturalism, yet its actions are totally ethnocentric. with such examples as; detention centers, wars in iraq and afghanistan, mamdu habib, david hicks, the tampa and children overboard, the bahktiari family, cornelia rau, with the most recent fear spreading tactics be the government officials themselves about terrorist in our midst, and the governments' failure to truly recognize and reconciliate with the aboriginal peoples of australia whom have suffered the most cruelly over the past 217 years of european colonialization. it is my feeling that no matter what is preached or the legislation that is passed in promotion of multiculturalism within schools, that this will never fully be achieved while under the direction of ignorant and blatantly racist policy makers. therefore the actions of the peoples, and school students included, will continue to hinder the potential for true multiculturalism in australia, despite the desire of many to see this possibility fulfilled.

excuse me miss, will you punch this guy for me?

this just in from the australian government- they now want women serving on the front line as regular combat troops during war time operations. i guess the federal government figures they can't get enough men to fight. this is getting beyond ridiculous. do you remember when that little american girl was captured by iraqi troops in the very first days of this latest war in the desert? the entire united states was outraged. all battle plans were halted in preference for a search and rescue mission. in the end, the girl was released. now there hollywood has made a television mini-series on the whole fiasco.
in no way, am i arguing against women in equal roles to men. i am all for equality of men and women. my point is this- why are governments looking for more ways to promote wars, when they should be searching for more ways to prevent war? have male soldiers seen enough war? i know that the united states government is finding it difficult to recruit more soldiers. there has been an increase in financial incentives to get more young men to sign up for combat. there has even been mention of reinstating the draft.
imagine if they spent as much effort trying to prevent fighting and wars, as they do starting and continuing wars? unfortunately, war is big business. just ask dick. afterall, he is a war profiteer. does the word "haliburton" ring a bell? so most of the people making the decisions to go to war, are in reality making more money for themselves at the expense of the dead soldiers and dead innocents. for every bullet that is used, that means dollars in their pockets. just ask dick (don't bother asking bush, because he doesn't really have a clue what is going on).
my suggestion is to send out the politicians and decision makers who vote for war, to fight the wars. let these mental midgets fight it out on the battle fields. the rest of us can stay home to mow the lawn or go to the beach for a surf, because we have much more important things to do that pick a fight. encouraging women to fight is not going to solve anything. they don't want to fight anymore than the men do.

crying wolf

phil ruddock says australia is going to be blown up by terrorists. john howard says australia is going to be blown up by terrorists. what is with the BIG scare tactics? of course australia is a terrorist target. we all have known this since little johnny howard, in all his infinite wisdom, five years ago got the country involved in areas of the world where it did not belong, and had no business in mixing with- afghanistan and more recently iraq (but by this time australia and john howard was neck deep in shit creek {and little johnny is not that tall}). so why all the sudden talk splashed all over the news? why attempt to scare people now? could it be a political tactical manouver? surely this must be the case. it is obvious to me that the whole australian liberal (the biggest oxymoron) party is trying to throw attention on a subject like terrorism so that they can push through their new "labour laws." this is the real agenda of this moronic government. presently, they are attempting to throw work place agreement laws back into the dark ages. with the recent bombings in london, the prime minister has found the perfect platform to create fear in his own citizens in one area, while he can quietly and secretly sign away more fundamental rights of the aussie battlers. ladies and gentlemen, it has happened so many times before in this country, i am surprised by any one who still believes john howard not to be the lying cheating manipulative little cunt that he is. he'd turn his own mother into the authorities if it meant an extra 50 dollars in his pocket. don't be surprised when it all goes down next week, and please stop being shocked by the news from the great prime minister, little johnny howard, when he says australia is a terrorist target. afterall, it was john howard who painted the bulls-eye on the nation.

it is not rocket science

for as long back as i can remember i have been intrigued by space and space flight. as a young boy, i was always dreaming about landing on the moon and space shuttle adventures throughout the solar system. when the challenger blew up in 1986 i was devestated. it was one of those moments you never forget, i can recall the time, day, place, and circumstances vividly. two years ago when the columbia disintegrated upon re-entry i was shocked, but not nearly as gutted as i was in 86. this i think had something to do with becoming more jaded and cynical with age.
so it is no wonder that i have been following the latest space shuttle adventure very closely whenever i hear any mention of it on the news or read it in the paper. but this time around i am a lot more skeptical and not very surprised by the fact that there seems to be several problems with the discovery space shuttle, as it is floating through space at about 30,000 miles per hour. NASA has had nearly 2 1/2 years to sort out any potential problems with the space craft with an expense nearly 2 billion dollars, and still they can't seem to get it right in the most obvious of places, such as the glue in the heat shields and now the insulation moulding around the windscreen. rather than spending all that money to fix these things, i think they should have just wheeled the thing around the corner, at cape canaveral, to the local smash repairs. it would have cost them maybe a few hundred bucks and taken only a few weeks.
seriously, it would be a tense time to be one of those discovery shuttle astronauts sitting around the international space station pondering re-entry into the earth's atmosphere. it would be one of the best seats in the house, starring back at your home planet about 2000 miles above sea level, but certainly full of anxiety. yet, for some reason, i seem to have this feeling of "she'll be right." come on, it is NASA we are talking about here. certainly these guys know what they are doing. certainly, they can overcome nearly any obstacle. they put man on the moon. they have put many people into space in the past. yes, they have been responsible for some all time big fuck ups, but that is in the past. i saw the apollo 13 movie and those guys mad it back safe and sound in a tuna can. so i have no doubt that the crew of the discovery space shuttle will return in one piece, safe and sound. regardless, i will be following the saga as it unfolds

a few questions

these are a few questions for you to ponder as you watch the news, listen to the radio during your daily commute, have a conversation over a meal, or just find yourself going through your routine everyday life: why is it wrong to be anti-semitic but perfectly acceptable to be islamaphobic? why do christians typically take the moral high ground, yet their actions are consistently contrary to their preachings? why are these three religions frequently at war with one another, when all three religions at their core are promoting the same ideologies- tolerance, peace, love, and acceptance?

tell me what you think.

troglodites have more brains than this guy

today i have nothing nice to write about. i have twice already deleted several paragraphs of text. i am fighting the urge to lash out and make some slanderous comments about my now former employer, the fucking amoeba. get this- yesterday i get a text message on my mobile phone (his favorite method of communication) saying he no longer requires my services for several reasons, blah blah blah. this after 8 days of avoiding my phone calls and text messages (because i know it is the only way of actually getting a message through). how utterly pathetic!
i have one testicle, and i definitely know for certain that i have more balls than this guy. really, i don't care about the job or the money. i am a little short on cash at the moment, but so what? i know i can get another job. what truly pisses me off is the mere fact that this pathetic loser did not have the slightest decency or common courtesy to tell me the "bad news" over a telephone call, much less in person. if this maggot had any sort of relevance in my life i would probably be looking for a get square, but i am not. because i have learned that in life when people experience shit, like the piece of shit this guy is, they flush the toilet. whoosh.
0414705667 -this is his mobile phone number, if you feel like venting your own frustrations, feel free.

good times in radiology

well if this doesn't make you feel informed as to why it takes so long to get your x-ray results when you are at the hospital, than i don't know what will.

does this person know something we don't

this information could be even more drastic for the world than the results of 2000. however, only time will tell. i am not sure that it is even valid, but if it does become true, the mass suicide rate would most likely spike, making the hale-bop folks of san diego, california and their nike-shoe-wearing-love-in look like a tea party. i am not sure if i would actually kill myself, but i would certainly have to find something else to hang in shame, as my head can get no lower, due to the current dick 'n bush show travelling the country.
