sticks and stones may break some bones but guns will surely kill
whose bright idea was it to give guns to the police in england? what a joke! seriously, what were they thinking? the coppers used to be refered to as "bobby's" now they are just boobies. i can understand that people are on edge after the bombs that went off a few weeks ago. however, now is a time for patience and tranquility to regain thought and composure. now is not the time to be promoting mass hysteria and excitability through a "shoot to kill policy and we will ask questions later." afterall, everyone knows it is easier to interrogate a dead man...
if we begin to look back in hindsight, and start to connect the dots over the past 10 years, in regards to terrorism and counter-terrorism, a pattern begins to form and once again racism is showing its ugly head. yes, racism- pure, ugly, small-minded, uninformed, hatred of fellow human beings based on no reason other than the apparent physical characteristics of a person. anyone can draw these parralels for themselves. yet, in this latest example by the british police on how not to win friends and influence others, there is one dead brazilian national. why is he dead? because he had dark skin and dark hair. if he was fair skinned, blonde, and blue-eyed, surely the police would have let him pass by, perhaps with even a pat on the back. but this guy looked different. he looked like a terrorist. and he was running from a train (because he was late for work, in an attempt to be as punctual as possible).
now this makes me wonder, what does a terrorist look like? as far as the london police are concerned, a terrorist is any one who is dark skinned, dark haired, perhaps multi-lingual, running, and perhaps a bit sweaty (because of the inner guilt they carry around as opposed to the sudden burst of exercise). so now that we have that description of a terrorist, we can determine through deductive reasoning that nerly 3/4 of the earth's population are terrorists. doesn't this sort of method of reasoning sound an aweful lot like, let's say, someone like- donald rumsfeld and his whacked theory that "behind every bush is a terrorist!"
dead men tell no tales. the london police have just verified this statement. they shot an innocent man 8 times before stopping to ask him questions. seven of those bullets were head shots, the eighth was in the shoulder. it makes it kind of difficult to talk with a bullet in the head. i for one think the world is in more danger from the london police having guns, rather than a few terrorists with bombs. the london police should give up the guns, and go back to whalloping people with sticks, afterall it is something they were good at. even the LAPD took lessons from the british cops, in how to subdue innocent suspects, like rodney king.
