yes folks. after about 12 months of talking about it, and after about 5 months of hard work and saving the evidence, i have finally brewed my first batch of beer. two days ago i even bottled and capped it. i have now sitting on the tiles down stairs 31 long neck bottles of beer in their final stages of fermentation and will be ready for drinking in about 2 weeks. but i am told the longer i wait to partake the better the flavour. but i am sure i will be cracking the first open soon enough. the hardest part, and most expensive was the buying of bottles and drinking them in preparation for the brewing process. although i think i collected more than twice the bottles i need, so i am planning a second batch in a few weeks and then i will have about 60 long neck bottles in the rotation. yum yum. but already i have enough beer to keep me rightly pickled for a long time. so i am hoping it will all work out, and that i will be making my own beer for some time to come. at the very least it was a fun and educational exercise.
